Procurement Maturity Assessment

The procurement maturity assessment scores your organisation from 1 (ad hoc) to 5 (optimised) across five dimensions — strategy and governance, process and systems, supplier management, spend data and analytics, and people and skills. It sums the scores into a total out of 25 and expresses your overall maturity as a percentage, so you can see where you stand and what to improve next.

You can't improve procurement without an honest picture of where it stands today. This quick self-assessment scores five dimensions of procurement capability and returns an overall maturity level, giving you a baseline and a shortlist of the weakest areas to focus on.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a procurement maturity model?

A procurement maturity model describes how a function evolves from reactive, ad hoc buying (level 1) to a strategic, data-driven, well-governed operation (level 5). Assessing yourself against it turns a vague sense of 'we could do better' into a specific, prioritised improvement plan.

How should I score honestly?

Score based on what consistently happens, not on your best day or your written policy. If a practice exists but isn't followed everywhere, it isn't yet embedded. Involving a few colleagues and comparing scores usually produces a more honest, useful result.

What do I do with the result?

Focus on your lowest-scoring dimensions first — that is where maturity rises fastest. Many early wins come from process and data: standardising ordering onto one catalogue and getting clean, classified spend visibility, both of which Lapasar Mall supports out of the box.
