Contract Register Template

A contract register is a single list of all your active supplier contracts, recording each one's value, start date, expiry or renewal date, notice period and owner. Its main job is to stop contracts auto-renewing or lapsing unnoticed. This free CSV template gives you one row per contract and a status column so you always know what needs action next.

Lost contracts cost money — they auto-renew at worse terms, or lapse and leave you unprotected. A contract register is the simple fix: one place that tracks every contract's expiry and notice period so you renew, renegotiate or exit on time. This template gives you that register ready to fill in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why keep a contract register?

Because contracts that fall off the radar cost money — auto-renewing at poor terms or lapsing and leaving gaps. A register gives you one view of every contract's value, expiry and notice period, so decisions are made deliberately and on time rather than by default.

What is a notice period and why does it matter?

The notice period is how far in advance you must tell a supplier you intend to renew, renegotiate or terminate. Miss it and many contracts auto-renew for another term. Tracking it in the register is the single most valuable thing a contract register does.
